Pick of the Day: May 17

The pick of the day? The "Coco Dress 1937." for 13sd. Simple and chic. To accessorize this gorgeous dress I extenuated the mild gold undertones. I added the "Golden Waist Belt" for 6sd, and Elle "Stacked Cuffs" for 4sd. The headband is from Stardoll Archive for 4sd. Also some gold/black.brown vintage Hotbuys earrings.

Hottest Hair for Spring 2010

The natural beachy look

[any length]

Relaxed beach-themed waves are making a comeback from last summer. Start by applying a styling mousse into your locks. If you shower b

efore bed, while your hair is damp tightly apply a bun in the middle of your head on the top. This will create volume. If you have thin hair apply thickening spray/mousse. When you wake up, lightly pull out the hair tie. Blow dry waves to take out all left over moisture. If you want, take a curling iron and curl several small pieces of hair framing your face.

Curl your entire head in layers so that there is a lot of volume. Run your fingers gently through curls to loosen the tight curls. Flip your head upside down and hair spray. I recommend Pure Abundance Volumizing Hair Spray. Flip back up. Create a loose pony tail in the middle of your head. Pin different waves surrounding the center of the pony tail around and inside. Use a chain headband [check Nordstorm's for a good selection]. If you have no such headband, use a thick chain necklace and wrap it around your head.

Low Pigtails

[medium to long hair]

Seen on the Prada runway, this has become a phenomenon. To start, apply a light hairspray all over your hair. Gently tease. Create a deep part. About half an inch below your ears secure two ponytails with a thin, dark hair tie. If you have your part in the center, or if the ponytails are placed any higher, it will look like a childish rendition, so be careful! To complete this couture look, add bold lips and vintage looking sunglasses.

All of the 2010 looks together.! Messy side braids are easy to achieve by teasing and hair gel. Bows can be found at basically any store [forever21, saks, nordstroms, etcc.] You could also make your own. Create a flat top with hair gel and bobby pins. Create a high ballerina bun with teasing, hairspray, and twisting the hair around a central focused point on the top of your head.

I'm Bringin' Color Back

Thats right; no more of that dull white inner corner eyes with black eyeliner and black outer lids. The hottest thing right now? Color. Decorate your face with pale yellow eyeshadows, dark green mascara, and candy pink lips. The best way to rock your color palletes is to pick one part of your face to highlight: eyes or lips. As of right now do NOT mix. For my medoll I picked eyes. I started with white eye shadow highlights on the inside corners. I then did a little bit of ice blue shadow on the outer corners. Finally I swept pale yellow eye shadow all over the lid. Black mascara applied, then another extra coat of dark green mascara. Black eyeliner surrounding the entire eye. Lips are completly nuetral, and my hair is dark and contrasting with my pale skin. To finish your look, pair this with bold, chunky earrings. Mine are Hotbuys.

This new color trend doesn't just apply to your makeup; experiment with your wardrobe too! Pull out some vintage dresses/skirts/blouses to rock your new look.

DKNY. Worth it?

How much are you willing to pay for the DKNY scuba? Some girls; a lot. Up to 550sd. But is it worth it? When you go to someones suite and see that they have the scuba or first edition DKNY what do you think? She's rich? She's elite? Admit it; we all think that. It can become obsessive. It's all just a game; Elizabeth&James, LE, DKNY...it's our competitive nature coming out through fashion. You need to be careful when shopping and trading. It's all just an image.

Summer 2010

Am i the only one beyond excited? The twinkling gray oceans, the late nights, the warm sun penetrating our tanned skins...it's heaven! To prepare yourself you have to do [ and possibly buy!] a couple of things.

You have to protect yourself from that blazing sun, if your at the pool, beach, or just hanging out outside. Buy Tarte 24.7 Natural Lip Sheer SPF 15 to protect your lips:)

You have to get yourself excited and involved. Sign up for camps! Try out a sport you haven't tried before...volleyball, basketball, soccer, crew; it's never too late! If you are still bored try volunteering. Many people in this world need alot more than we do. Give back !
Organize a picnic or a pool party for your friends. Try serving alot of brightly colored fruit and Virgin Pina Coladas. You don't want to lose contact with your friends over the summer, so organize different fun activities you could do like going to SixFlags [ buy a season pass online! ] or taking a road trip.
For friends that go on long sleepaway camps, you want to keep in contact too. Before they leave give them a pile of pre-addressed envelopes and cute stationary. They can write to you like the olden-days! Remember to always respond with news of whats going on with you and your friends.

Use this time to start again. It's a new year! Work on being nicer, cleaner, happier, stronger, bolder..whatever you feel you need to improve on!

This summer is a once in a lifetime oppurtunity; take it!

Stardoll: The good, the fab and the ugly.

What defines an "elite" stardoll member? The way their superstar pale blond locks contrast perfectly with a blood red DKNY headband? Their impressive collection of LE? Or the way they talk, discreetly condescending? Stardoll needs a wakeup call. I created another account [name will not be revealed] that was a non-superstar to do some reseach on the way some of our stardoll users react to a geek. This is a day in the life of a stardoll loser.

I sign on. The "Upgrade Now!" page flashes at me, with the sad stardoll turning happy and rich. Popular. My suite loads. A girl who is plus-sized opens. All free items are filled in the closet, and the walls are pale pink with a couple of sparkles. Latest visitors: most non-superstar. Crude comments fill my guestbook like "I would nev-er be friends with someone like you. Heres a tip: lose the weight, get some good hair and become a superstar. Old DKNY please! Then i will MAYBE reconsider." I personally have alot of DKNY. I'm a superstar. I have good hair, and a nice physique. Is it possible that all of us stardolls may be falling into this superficial downfall? I searched some of my stardoll bff's who are simular in stardoll wealth. I was shocked by the results. The way they just ignored everything i said. I purposefully wrote friend requests that sounded desperate and sweet. All I got in return was nasty comments from the girls I considered to be my bestfreinds. I never thought they could be that cold-blooded nasty.

The truth on stardoll is that you need to find good freinds. Look past all the pretences and superficial bitches and press the accept button on that "losers" friend request. You never know who could be sitting in front of the computer on the other end.

Publicists&Managers

The latest thing? Publicists and managers. There are several accounts on stardoll whose soul mission is to aid the elite. I've had a couple of assistants in the past, but they weren't too great...[complainers!] These publicists/managers are much more conveniant. They advertise any of your sales/clubs all over stardoll [ im talking guestbooks, the most popular stardolls...everywhere!] Plus, you know they will put effort into it because most of them [not all!] get paid. I myself have a publicist and an ex-manager. I haven't paid yet, but it is definatly not too steep.

I know that most people who have publicists for more than a month are superstar, so they can pay them.
